Workpant

Project manager making workpants for junk removal

Purpose-built work pants designed for a growing local junk removal business. We balanced durability and simplicity for hauling, with task-specific features that double as a distinctive uniform. I project-managed a team of nine through a 3rd year studio course, coordinating design, prototyping and client delivery.

Heavy cotton duck was chosen for durability and strength. Additional polyester patches were added in high-wear contact areas on the thigh and cuff. Articulation was added with a rear yoke, darted knee and a crotch gusset. Details were added to the front pockets to make them more secure, organized.

As project manager I set the direction, broke tasks down to play to team strengths, and kept everyone accountable. I compiled the concept document for the client and monitored productivity and timeline throughout.
